The 2019 festival was a success!

Now that the hard work is over, we can reflect on the success of the 2019 festival. From the exciting rockpool ramble, the full house at ‘marine trivia’, our first Fishy Films on the Foreshore and the full suite of live music on the Saturday – we can confidently say that it was a success!

Thank you to all of our supporters and patrons – you are the people who make this festival great each year.

New and exciting format for the 2019 festival.

This year, the Festival of the Sea is changing. Unlike previous years, we will not be having any activities or events on the Sunday including the famous DUCK RACE. Our volunteer committee decided not to hold the duck race this year due to the high amount of volunteer effort and logistical issues involved. Instead, more emphasis will be put on our activities during the week and on the Saturday with the festivities ending on Saturday evening. Some new and exciting activities include:

  • Marine trivia night: On Thursday the 14th of March, join us at the Barwon Heads pub for marine themed trivia!! Hosted by Know Brainer Trivia.
  • Enviro Yoga with Rachel Heely: Get moving and enjoy the sunshine on Saturday the 16th of March at 10am for some EnviroYoga.
  • Raft Building with Scouts: Make your own raft along the Barwon Heads estuary with local scout groups!
